 WELCOME

Greetings and welcome to my website. My name is Molly and I am glad you are making the decision to become a more self aware and much happier individual. It is very important to find a therapist who is right for you and thorough with your treatment. If you are looking to make a deeply transformative and positive change in your life, then you have come to the right place.

MY SPECIALTIES INCLUDE THE FOLLOWING:

- Anxiety (GAD, Panic Disorder, OCD and PTSD).

- Depression (in men and women. It can present differently for both sexes).

- Personal growth and life transitions.

- Abandonment issues that lead to difficulty trusting in intimate relationships.

- Couples counseling and relationship difficulties, especially revolving around communication and needs.

- Persistent mental illness (Bipolar disorder, Schizophrenia, Schizoaffective disorder and some mood disorders).

- Substance abuse issues

THE TWO GROUPS THAT ARE OFFERED AT THIS TIME ARE:

1. Grief and loss over the death of a parent (regardless of how long it has been since they have passed).
2. Hearing voices

*Please contact me for group schedules. Please see the rates page for a fee schedule.

In groups, as well as individual therapy I practice cognitive behavioral therapy, motivational interviewing, and something called cognitive restructuring. The cognitive restructuring theory states that your own unrealistic beliefs are directly responsible for generating key dysfunctional emotions and their behaviors such as stress, depression, anxiety, and social withdrawal. The human mind is capable of overcoming negative thoughts and emotions by learning to dismantle the unrealistic beliefs that have given them life.

WHILE IN THERAPY WITH ME YOU WILL:

1. Discover and work on negative patterns in your life and turn them into positive ones.
2. Learn to limit your reliance on other people and begin to look to yourself for validation.
3. Learn how to become aware of your own thoughts and how to change them into positive and realistic thoughts.
4. Learn you how to manage your emotions and therefore control your environment.
5. Learn to develop flexible, self-enhancing beliefs and attitudes toward yourself, others, and the world around you.
6. Learn to address your past with a view to how it may be effecting your present day beliefs and behaviors.
7. Work on abandonment and intimacy issues that may be inhibiting your ability to really care for yourself and therefore stand in the way of your interpersonal relationships.  This may cause jealousy and sabataging of the relationship.
8. Learn cognitive restructuring in an effort to further work on reframing the faulty ideas that what has happened in your life comes down to failures, instead of learning experiences that you can and do grow from.

I look forward to working with you.
